Work with National Hauora Coalition
Job vacancy – Programme Lead, Mental Health
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with programme management expertise to play a key role in the development and implementation of kaupapa Māori primary mental health initiatives.
A key focus of this role will be the implementation and ongoing management of a kaupapa Māori primary mental health initiative (Te Kūwatawata) across three District Health Boards and multiple providers. Specifically, this role will provide management and coordination of staff and providers that deliver the Te Kūwatawata programme to whānau. Te Kūwatawata is a service that links whānau with whakapapa through pūrākau to the characteristics of their atua, their tipuna and, ultimately, their pre-colonised selves. Working in partnership with community providers, National Hauora Coalition (NHC) is the coordinating agency for the Te Kūwatawata programme in Auckland, Counties Manukau, and Waikato.
The role will develop and support collaboration and relationship-based approaches to build networks of providers, government agencies and community organisations to strengthen service delivery and improve mental health outcomes for whānau. NHC is intent on expanding access to, and choice of, primary mental health and addictions services for Māori and other priority populations with further initiatives under development. This role will contribute to the development and implementation of this mahi.
