Mana Ora is a kaupapa Māori, strengths-based mixed mentoring and personal development programme which addresses both individual and whānau barriers to prosperity and development, to enhance education and employment trajectories.
The goal of the programme is to remove barriers to future prosperity for young people who are caught in a cycle of long-term disadvantage on a benefit.
Mana Ora has three core programme roles, which are:
Transformers – Mentoring roles that build strong relationships with IEE young people and journey with them as they become better able to look for work and to gain meaningful employment.
Community builders – Work closely with the transformers, cementing positive partnerships within an IEE’s community and creating opportunities for people to enter the workforce.
Change tracker – Programme manager roles tasked to coordinate the programme’s co-design initiatives. This strategic position focuses on engagement, identifying necessary tools for assessment and planning, and implementing data tracking and analytic systems.
